PREVENTION OF DROWNING

1. Never leave small children less than 3 years of age alone in a bathtub or wading pool.

2. Keep toilet seat lids down and bathroom doors shut.

3. Don't leave large buckets or barrels of water around as small children may fall in and drown.

4. Make sure children are supervised swimming in a neighborhood pool.

5. Make sure neighborhood pools are fenced off to keep children out when no adults will be around to supervise.

6. Teach children not to dive in shallow water or unknown water areas.

7. Caution older children to always swim with a buddy.

8. Take your child to swimming lessons when they are 4 years of age or begin to show an interest in learning to swim.

9. Always have children wear life jackets when riding in watercraft.
