PREVENTION OF HEAT SICKNESS

1. Make sure children drink plenty of water whenever playing or working on a hot day. Lots of cool water is better than sodas or juices.

2. Have children take water breaks in the shade on hot days.

3. Dress children in light colored lightweight clothes on hot days.

4. Don't bundle infants in too many blankets if they are in a hot environment or if they have a fever.

5. Don't let children stay very long in a hottub (and only with adult supervision.)
