PREVENTION OF POISONINGS

1. Keep chemicals (house cleaners, furniture polish, garden sprays, fertilizers...) locked up or in a safe place out of reach of children.

2. Keep beer, wine, and liquors out of reach of children.

3. Keep prescription drug bottle with safey caps on and out of reach of children.

4. Don't leave prescription drugs in a purse where children could reach to search.

5. Don't store chemicals in soft drink bottles as children may think it is for drinking.

6. Find out if any of the plants in your house may be poisonous plants and remove them if they are or if you are in doubt.

7. Keep syrup of ipecac in your medicine chest to use in certain kinds of ingestions.

8. Keep your local poison control phone number available to use in an emergency.
